Daemon Monster

I couldn't honestly say much about the design other than I wanted to make something quite disturbing that might also be good fun to sculpt, but, from an illustrative point of view, the drawing was an opportunity to experiment with brown paper which, being a middle value rather than a bright value as white paper is, allowed me to first draw the creature's dark tones and then re-add the lighter values into the picture. I found this to be quite a striking approach as my light values have had a tendency in the past to get a bit lost in the past due to smudging on white paper.
